Meal Plan FAQ

In order to meet your campus dining needs, we have designed the following meal plans for the 2009-2010

The Meal Plan week runs Sunday - Saturday. Unused meals will not
carry over from week to week.

SNACK ALLOWANCE
Can be used as CASH in any food service operation located on this
campus.

19 Meal Plan

  • Any 19 meals served per week
  • $220.00 Snack Allowance per year
  • 10 Guest Passes per year
  • Cost per year: $3,237.00

14 Meal Plan

  • Any 14 meals served per week
  • $330.00 Snack Allowance per year
  • 8 Guest Passes per year
  • Cost per year: $3,145.00

10 Meal Plan

  • Any 10 meals served per week
  • $330.00 Snack Allowance per year
  • 6 Guest Passes per year
  • Cost per year $2,817.00

Apartment Living 5 Meal Plan (For Woodland & Cedar Community Only)

  • Any five meals served per week
  • $400.00 Snack Allowance per year
  • 4 Guest Passes per year
  • Cost per year $2,689.00
  • Ability to use meal swipes in Birch Commons

Declining Balance Program - Dining Options to Fit Your Lifestyle

Our Declining Balance Program allows you to enjoy all the exciting dining options we have to offer on campus effortlessly. It is flexible, economical, and ideal for all UMass Dartmouth students, faculty, and staff who are not required to be on a traditional meal plan. Declining Balance Program funds are accepted like cash at any of our 15 convenient dining locations on campus by utilizing your UMass Pass ID card. Funds are available for your entire academic career and can be purchased in $200, $300, $400, or $500 increments. Any unused balances will be refunded to you upon request. It's easy to sign up just complete the Declining Balance Agreement Form and drop it by the UMass Pass Office located on the ground floor of the Campus Center.

Dining Policies

Sick Meal Policy

Any student requiring a sick meal must provide proper identification. A portioned light meal will be provided. The
portioned light meal will consist of clear soup, juice, gingerale and jello. This policy is strictly enforced.

Dining Policies & Procedures

One of our main goal's is to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. In order to meet this goal, we need your help in adhering to the following procedures:

  • Please bus your dishes and disposables from your table when you have finished dining.
  • Take only the food you plan to eat, and please eat the food you take.
  • Please do not take food, dishes or utensils from the dining area.
  • Remember that Meal Cards are non-transferable. Do not lend or borrow Meal Cards.

Removal of Food from the Dining Hall

All food and beverages must be consumed in the Resident Dining Room prior to exiting. Students will be asked to
discard and/ or finish items before leaving.
